APA Citizen Psychologist Award for Advancing Disability as a Human Rights and Social Justice Issue

Division 22 is one of 14 APA divisions, and state, provincial, and territorial psychological associations (SPTAs) awarded a grant to develop a recognition program for Citizen Psychologists. Our Division’s award, APA Citizen Psychologist Award for Advancing Disability as a Human Rights and Social Justice Issue, will be given annually at our mid-winter meeting.

This award program is supported by the APA Citizen Psychologist Initiative, which was started by 2018 APA President Jessica Henderson Daniel, Ph.D., ABPP.

The Citizen Psychologist Award is conferred upon an individual judged to have demonstrated prolong engagement in significant voluntary efforts to advance disability rights, accessibility, and justice for people living with disabilities. The Division 22 APA Citizen Psychologist Award for Advancing Disability as a Human Rights and Social Justice Issue will be presented at the mid-year Rehabilitation Psychology conference.
